Statistics Tracking and Course Reports
- Student Overview for Single Course: gives similar information to Item Statistics Tracking without having to be turned on for each item individually. The report displays an individual
student's activity within a course, sorted by date. Data includes the
total overall time the student spent in the course as well as detailed
information about the student's activity, such as which items and
Content Areas the student accessed and the time spent on each.
- Course Activity Overview Report: displays overall activity within a single course, sorted by student and date. Data includes the total and average time spent per user and the total amount of activity the user had in the course. It tells you when students are most active and the amount of time students spend in your course.
- Overall Summary of Student Activity: displays an individual student's activity within a course, sorted by date. Data includes the total overall time the student spent in the course as well as detailed information about the student's activity, such as which items and Content Areas the student accessed and the time spent on each.
- All User Activity inside Content Areas: displays a summary of all user activity inside Content Areas for the course. This will tell you which content areas in your course students use most.
Statistics Tracking (step by step instructions ») allows educators to view statistics on content items seen by course users at the content area level. Statistics include user activity by date, the day of the week, and the hour of the day. For example, statistics tracking is enabled on several content items within a folder. A student accesses the folder but does not click or open any of the items within the folder. The report (Content Usage Statistics Report) for each item in the folder will record a hit or click by that student because they all displayed to the student at the time the folder was opened (assuming there are no date restrictions on the items).
Course Reports (step by step instructions »), located under Evaluation in the Control Panel, provides different ways to view information about student activity, content and course usage. Although there are several types of reports that are available, the most popular reports used by educators are as follows:
The instructor or evaluator can view specific student’s usage to determine if students are actively using the course. The report appears in the form of data and graphical charts.
