Work Around: To view the workaround click here

or

Work Around: Application Sharing

1.Click the Application Sharing button

2.Select Share Desktop or a specific application from the list. Only open applications that are not minimized will appear on the list.

3. Click Share.

4.The shared application will display in the Content Window for Participants.

Guest Link System Default Not Working

There is a bug that causes sessions to be created with Allow Guests initially set to ON regardless of the fact that the default setting for the Collaborate Tool is currently set to OFF. As recordings inherit their access permissions from the sessions used to create them, this affects recording guest link availability as well. The workaround for this issue is to manually turn Allow Guests Off after a session is created.

  1. Create Session
  2. Click the down arrow next to the session just created
  3. Select Allow Guests
  4. Click the On button (as it is already in the On position clicking the button will turn it off)
  5. Session Should now show Allow Guests Off and Public URL and Add Guests to Invite should become Greyed out (inaccessible)
  6. Click Done
Browsers Not Recommended for Blackboard Collaborate

At present, the following browsers are NOT certified or recommended for use with Blackboard Collaborate and should be avoided by faculty and students when accessing a Blackboard Collaborate Web Conference Session.
Internet Explorer 8 & 9 (on Windows 8)
Internet Explorer 10 on Windows XP (32 bit with 32 bit JVM only) and Windows Vista
Safari (5.0, 5.1, and 7.0) on Mac OS (10.7, 10.8, and 10.9)
Safari (6.0) on Mac OS (10.9)

Cannot Resize Application Sharing on Macs

The yellow border around a shared application is no longer displayed. Both the moderator/instructor’s full desktop and individual applications can be shared, but there is no longer a way to share a region of the desktop on Macs.

Work Around: Although the visual cue of the yellow border is lost, moderator/instructor will still be able to see what they are sharing by using the Application Sharing preview window (Tools >> Application Sharing).

Grade Center

Points Possible Field in Grade Center Column Displays Zero Points after Importing a Test

Importing and deploying a test created from a test generator application can cause the Point Possible field in the Grade Center column to display zero points even though points are assigned to each question in the test. The Points Possible field in the Grade Center column cannot be edited.

Work Around: Edit the "Test Canvas" page and update the points on one question. For example, if Question 1 is worth 10 points, click on the points and change it from 10 points to 11 points. Click Submit. Question 1 is now worth 11 points, Next, click on the points again and change it from 11 points back to 10 points. Click Submit. The Points Possible field in the Grade Center column will now accurately reflect the total points of the test.
